La Terrasse sits on a Karaköy rooftop looking straight across the water at the old city, with the Galata Bridge below and Süleymaniye and the Blue Mosque on the skyline opposite.
The menu is Mediterranean with Turkish anchoring — mezes, grilled fish, a few meat dishes — and the wine list covers Turkish producers properly, which is not always the case. Cocktails at the bar end of the terrace.
The view does most of the work at sunset, and that is when tables are hardest to get; reserve and ask for the rail. In winter the terrace is enclosed and heated.
Fifteen minutes on foot downhill from The Soul Hotel, or five by taxi.
