Forum Istanbul in Bayrampaşa is less a shopping centre than a complex of attractions with shops attached: around 250 stores, plus an aquarium, a Madame Tussauds, a snow park and a cinema.
Turkuazoo is the draw. It was Turkey’s first public aquarium, and its main tunnel runs through a tank holding sharks and rays. Combined tickets covering several attractions are sold at the entrance and work out cheaper than buying separately.
Open daily 10:00 to 22:00, with the M1 metro stopping directly outside.
From The Soul Hotel it is around forty minutes by metro with one change, or half an hour by taxi. Worth the trip mainly with children, or for a day when the weather rules out walking Beyoğlu.
